An Afternoon with Moet Hennessy’s Most Versatile Wine, Terrazas des los Andes
Chef Chandra Yudasswara at Bacco Wine Culture, Jakarta has introduced their new luxurious range of champagnes and spirits from Moet Hennessy for all Jakarta to appreciate.
Through an exclusive luncheon attended by only 30 guests, host Belinda Luis, Brand Manager Champagne and Wines – Moet Hennessy Indonesia and Joseph Kurniawan, Trade Marketing Manager – Moet Hennessy Indonesia, entertained this exclusive group with a wine edutainment and beef anatomy through delectable wine pairings from the House portfolio of Terrazas des los Andes.
Chef Chandra wanted guests to experience his culinary journey starting with a demo of beef anatomy to give an introduction for the wine pairings. All the dishes guests got to taste were paired with Terrazas des lo Andes from Argentina. This wine is a pioneer of high altitude viticulture and is renowned for producing a range of world class Malbec wines.
To start the night, guests got to sip on Terrazas Altos del Plata Chardonnay. A white wine with a fruity profile, this wine has subtle toasty notes and a lively finished that was perfectly paired with simple appetizers such as seafood and light chicken, salad, and cheese marries in creamy or oil-based sauced. Mushroom Cappelletti and Burrata Caprese which consist of mushroom and cheese prepared by chef Chandra were excellent choices to start the lunch.
The main course consisted of Black Angus Tenderloin accompanied with Terrazas Malbec Reserva, a complex and intense Malbec with floral-black fruit character from blackberry, red current and plum combined with spicy and mentholated aromas. The Malbec perfectly fits with red meats, especially if grilled.
Terrazas Altos del Plata Malbec ended the meal with dessert delicacies of Vanilla and Chocolate Pannacota. The flavours of the red wine were with notes of berry, caramel and toasts.
During each course, Belinda Luis also gave a simple presentation about each wine pairing. Their ideal altitude at the foothills of the Andes creates a “vibrant classic” style of wine combining French know-how and Argentinian terroirs.
The luncheon also served other Moet Hennessy wines range such as Cloudy Bay Sauvignon and Cape Mentelle Cabernet Merlot as canapes pairing beverages during event.
