The month of February brings with it many exciting surprises, and while this week will be high time for passionate celebrations on the occasion of Valentine’s day, foodies in Bali are set for another treat at Capella Ubud, Bali’s Api Jiwa restaurant, where Adelaide-born yakitori chef Adam Liston will bring his brand of charcoal-cooked cuisine and yakitori into town.

Capella Ubud, Bali’s signature restaurant Api Jiwa is debuting its 2019 ‘Restaurant Takeover’ series by welcoming Executive Chef Adam Liston from Adelaide’s award-winning Shobosho, an Asian-inspired ‘fire’ cooking establishment known for its intimate yakitori experience. At Shobosho, which was awarded one Chef Hat in both the 2018 and 2019 edition of the Australian Good Food Guide, Chef Adam Liston is known for blending in ancient traditions of Japanese yakitori with the finesse, skill and texture of raw, cured, pickled and fermented ingredients.

Chef Adam Liston will bring his brand of charcoal-cooked cuisine and yakitori as part of Capella Ubud Bali’s Api Jiwa ‘Restaurant Takeover’ series.

On February 22 and 23, Chef Adam Liston is set to bring his unique craft to diners to the island of Gods. This dining experience is where chefs chargrill bite-sized yet boldly flavored portions right before the guests at Api Jiwa’s Robatayaki grill. The meal will be even more enhanced as there are no printed menus: the chef is tasked to tailor the culinary experience to each diner, personally presenting and explaining each dish. The items served? They will change depending on availability, seasonality as well as guest preference.

The entire culinary journey is designed to range between eight and ten courses, and Api Jiwa promises wow-factor desserts that is meant to complement the fulfilling event. For both days, the first seating begins at 6 p.m., while the second seating is scheduled at 8.30 p.m. This special dinner offer at Api Jiwa is IDR 1,200,000++ per person, comprising of only the food selection.
