For this year’s annual Dragon Boat Festival, Cherry Garden at Mandarin Oriental Singapore is pleased to present a trio of delectable rice dumplings to celebrate this fun occasion.

Starting 8 until 18 June 2018, Cherry Garden will offer three rice dumplings that are both filling and flavourful for a quick bite or easy appetizer for guests to munch on. Located on the 5th level, this restaurant uses fresh, seasonal produce to provide diners with an authentic Cantonese dining experience that will leave them wanting more. The menu is enhanced with a carefully selected wine lists and premium Chinese teas.

The Five Grain Rice Dumpling is wrapped in bamboo leaves and packed with big flavours and textures.

The Five Grain rice dumpling is a first for the Cherry Garden and a spin-off of the restaurant’s favourite Five Grain Fried Rice. A melange of brown rice, glutinous rice, black glutinous rice, sorghum and millet is ideal for the health conscious and packs big textures and flavours. Inside the filling holds chicken floss, chicken sausage, minced chicken, mushrooms, black-eyed peas and oyster sauce. This small parcel of joy is SGD 16 per piece.

Black Garlic Rice Dumpling is sweetly scented with moist and tender meats.

Black Garlic rice dumpling is made with sea whelk, preserved vegetables, bamboo charcoal powder, chunks of nutritious black garlic and kurobuta pork. It is then cooked in submersion of water for four hours to make the meat sweet and tender. This sweetly scented piece is for SGD 18.

The Golden Pearl Rice Dumpling is indulgent and plump for a satisfying taste.

The Golden Pearl rice dumpling is traditional and plump made from a combination of pork belly, chestnut and mushrooms, elevated with slow-braised baby abalone, and replete with other ingredients such as mung bean, salted egg yolk and lotus seeds. For SGD 28 per piece, this one is the closest flavour to home.

All these savoury dumplings are best complemented with White Silk Tea by TWG Tea, for its sweet hints of caramel and honey. This tea was specially selected by Executive Chinese Cheng Hon Chau.
