Glorious Independence Day at The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta Mega Kuningan


In celebration of Indonesia’s 72nd Independence Day, The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Mega Kuningan presents two Indonesian-inspired culinary promotions: “Indonesian Colonial Cuisine” and “Merdeka Moments”.

At Asia Restaurant, Executive Chef Rudolph Blatter, is leading the team that will serve complete culinary journey with a wide array of unique dishes on its buffet counters. Starting from 9 to 19 August 2017, the Dutch colonial times in Batavia are reminisced by the delectable menu items namely; Nasi Krawu, rice in banana leaf with shredded beef; Serundeng, beef stew with coconut flakes; Bebek Ingkung, duck dish is marinated with traditional ingredients; Seupan taro & cassava and banana with tasty grated coconut; Sate Kere, consists of beef, chicken and lamb with peanut sauce; Bubur Ase Betawi, porridge with beef stew and tofu; Kerupuk Gebyur, Indonesian crackers with brown sugar sauce and spicy-tangy sambal, and many more.

Themed in Tempo Doeloe décor, as the restaurant staff will be dressed in Indonesia colonial ensemble and this culinary experience starts from IDR 318,000++ per person available for lunch and dinner. Present your ID card that shows your birthday is within August period, and you will get a 45% off your dining bill.

Whilst at LOBO Restaurant, guests are invited to celebrate the week in a culinary journey back to the Golden time, with sumptuous Indonesian dishes from 14 August to 18 August 2017. Entitled ‘Merdeka Moments’, Chef de Cuisine Jan Schwittalla will present a special 5-course set menu inspired by various local dishes that he had come across since he arrived – with his modern European style twist.

This five-day fine dining experience is set to pamper diners with an exquisite Indonesian courses, such as Gado-gado, Indonesian most popular salad consisting mixed vegetables in peanut dressing; Gulai Ayam, chicken cooked in curry-like paste called Gulai; Pepes Ikan, steamed fish wrapped in banana leaves; Rendang, Indonesia’s world-renowned beef shanks stewed with chili paste; and one of the most popular desserts in Indonesia, Es Cendol. During this special week, guests can enjoy LOBO’s special set menu at IDR 490,000++ per person.
