Home Italian Cooking with Chef Franco at Rosso Restaurant


Inspired by a timeless childhood dating back to Sicily, Italy and the many different flavours from other regions that comprise a bountiful Italian meal, Chef Gianfranco Pirrone has presented a new menu concept at Rosso, for a more authentic and memorable meal with friends and family.

Located at Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta, the Italian restaurant Rosso will add a new menu concept to its authentic Italian menu list, aptly named “Home Italian Cooking”. Italian Chef Franco was motivated by the scents and sounds of his childhood with the help of watching the masters of the kitchen during his boyhood, his parents. Their passion for cooking and his heritage has brought fond memories that has brought joy to Chef Franco and helped create a new menu that will bring guests to a more casual and relaxed Italian dining atmosphere than others in Jakarta.

 

The new menu will feature a wide array of appetisers, Franco’s signature pasta, gourmet pizza, delectable main courses and unforgettable desserts for an explosion of tastes and sounds bringing people back to the basics.

Chef Gianfranco Pirrone is excited to share his wonderful childhood through the power of food with an all new menu to dedicate home cooking in a new way.

Diners have a wide collection of choices to choose from, starting with the appetiser. A choice of Tris di Bruschette, which is a dish of mixed vegetables, tomato mozzarella or Porcini parma ham, or Spuma di Dentice Bianco is the first stop in a flavourful journey through Italy. They then can move on to either Franco’s Signature Pasta dishes, Gourmet Pizzas or appetizing main dishes that will surely fill diner’s hearts and soul for more. The pasta served is all fresh and highlights moments of Chef Franco’s childhood. The pizzas are done using thicker dough and premium ingredients, presented in smaller portions so diners can either share all the flavours with the group or indulge with oneself. To end the night on a high note, the dessert in the new home style menu are simple yet full of flavour. From a chocolate concoction called Cioccolato Albicocche e Menta to the creamy Panna Cotta Alla Vaniglia, diners can taste sweet and airy desserts that will leave the night on a happy note.

Each meal is handle with the utmost care and fresh ingredients while feeling like eating in the comfort of a house with filling meals and even more filling company.

 

Rosso restaurant and lounge are committed to serving authentic Italian dishes using the finest ingredients and freshest products in a homey setting.
