Skyline Views and Authentic Cantonese Cuisine at Newly Opened Hakkasan Jakarta
Hakkasan Jakarta has opened its 12th global location in the Indonesian capital, debuting skyline views of the metropolis with signature Cantonese dishes and stylish cocktails.
Overlooking Jakarta’s vibrant financial hub at the Sudirman Central Business District, Hakkasan Jakarta debuts skyline views and signature Cantonese dishes from Chef de Cuisine Sky Wong Kum Choy on February 8, 2019, bringing a contemporary blend of authentic cuisine and sophisticated cocktails meant to satisfy the curious tastes of the capital’s residents.
Located on the 25th and 26th floors of the newly opened Alila SCBD, which is just next to the Indonesia Stock Exchange and right across of Pacific Place, the highly anticipated Hakkasan Jakarta is destined to become the city’s to-go place for both lunch and dinner among business professionals, bringing in unique dishes and cocktails focused on both seasonality and local produce that is certain to make for a memorable dining experience.
Hakkasan was founded in London in 2001, with locations worldwide including in the United States and the Middle East. Chef Sky, who is mentoring the Jakarta team, is passionate about traditional Chinese techniques, and takes his inspirations from his travels around the world. These aspects are reflected in his creations, which are given personalised and local touches. In Jakarta, the Hakkasan menu is also designed exclusively for the Indonesian capital, with menu highlights including the Crispy quail egg puff and the Steamed grouper with kaffir sambal sauce.
For lunch, guests have the option of choosing from either the full a la carte menu, or Hakkasan’s special Yum cha menu, the latter prepared to celebrate tea-drinking alongside specialty dim sum. In one hour, guests can enjoy the traditional Chinese tea with a selection of dim sum dishes, a choice of main course and to top it off, dessert – all of which brings that authentic Cantonese taste as well as a local blend.
Hakkasan Jakarta’s sophisticated cocktails will also be of interest to guests, as they have been created by Hakkasan’s expansive mixology program. Guests also have the option to get a little taste of their wine program, which pairs world-class wines with Cantonese cuisine, in a fashion perhaps unique and unlike any other.
These dining options, while intriguing on its own, are further elevated with the interior styling of the Jakarta location, which is inspired by the original design of the Michelin-starred London location. Hakkasan Jakarta is designed by Paris-based GBRH Interior Design, and mixes both Asian and Western influences; introducing sleek and intricate designs and featuring Hakkasan’s trademark of carved dark oak latticework and ambient lighting; which creates an intimate dining space in a contemporary, metropolitan setting.
The restaurant space spans across the entire 25th floor, with an unobstructed 180-degree view of the Jakarta skyline. Later this year, Hakkasan will introduce a unique rooftop experience that features several outdoor bars, banquettes and semi-private VIP booths. It’s the place for sweeping views of the urban landscape below, accompanied by top DJs to make for unforgettable nights.
In the near future, Hakkasan Jakarta also plans to announce dining programs, such as Hakkatini Nights – a weekly beverage-led program that includes Cantonese small eats – and Dim Sum Sundays – Hakkasan’s special version of Sunday brunch.
