From 4th October to 14th October 2018, The Westin Jakarta signature all-day dining restaurant, Seasonal Taste, will have their second Korean food promotion, “Korean Feast”, with authentic flavours and a special guest chef that will bring guests one step closer to the real deal. Following a successful Korean food promotion in March 2017, this year, The Westin Jakarta will bring in Chef Jeong Woo Heo from Sheraton Grand Incheon Hotel to help bring in the authentic flavours together.

Chef Jeong Woo Heo along with The Westin Jakarta’s own Executive Sous Chef Denny Boy Gunawan will collaborate and prepare a special collection of Korean food to guests, including dishes as Seaweed Soup with Beef, Braised Mackerel, Pickled Onion, Stir-fried Rice Cake with Soy Sauce, and Kimchi.

At a special media event, Chef Denny Boy Gunawan and Chef Jeong Woo Heo worked together to show the media about the art of making kimchi and its process and significance to Korea. Kimchi is a staple in Korean cuisine made from salted and fermented vegetables, most commonly Napa cabbages and Korean radishes, with chili powder, scallions, garlic, and ginger. The media got to engage with the chefs and make a batch of kimchi while also answering some questions.

A tasty selection of Korean cuisine, Korean Feast will bring flavour not unlike anything guests have seen before.

The Westin Jakarta’s Korean Feast is part of a month-long event celebrating the culture, art, and culinary staples of Korea around Jakarta. Korean Feast is available from 4th to 14th October at Seasonal Taste with weekday lunch at IDR 388,000++, weekday dinner at IDR 408,000++, and weekend lunch/dinner at IDR 438,000++, with price inclusive of soft drinks, beer, and flavoured ice tea.
