A Chic Escape into St. Martin with Belmond La Samanna

Starting this December, after a chic restoration, the Belmond La Samanna is back to wow and treat guests into an ice sparkling beach retreat in St. Martin.

This exquisite resort is located within the island’s most prestigious French West Indies neighbourhood overlooking Baie Longue’s mile long white sands. The resort invites guests to indulge in elegant European cuisine, sip Champagne at sunset and explore the vibrant coastline’s designer boutiques and over 400 restaurants. At La Samanna, the resort offers both a stylish private beach and spa oasis that embodies the island’s classic French spirit.

An Ocean View Suite can take this island adventure to a whole new level with the sky touching the ocean and infinite blue waves crashing on white sandy beaches.

La Samanna holds 83 rooms and public spaces flourishing under the art direction of “Pastel-chic” from interior designer firm MuzaLab, London. Featuring pastel blues, greens, pinks, and peaches inspired by natural tones of the Caribbean Sea, shells and corals are used alongside intricate and colourful botanical prints on fabrics, artworks, lighting and mirrors, along with the newly invigorated Baie Longue Bar, Trellis restaurant and main building.

The Trellis Restaurant contributes to St. Martin’s reputation as the Caribbean’s culinary capital with a sophisticated beachfront French restaurant where guests can dress up and enjoy the chef’s culinary masterpiece with European finesse. The historic La Cave Wine Cellar is the largest private wine cellar in the Caribbean and offers a memorable dining and fine wine pairing experience curated by the Head Chef.

For a more casual look, the resorts Beach Bar is a glamorous nightspot by the water’s edge with playful swings, monochrome lounge seating and dramatic chandeliers with inviting cocktails to have while watching the sunset.

Water sports and island activities will fill up the mind and body with energy each day with a abundant array of choices to fit anyone’s needs and wants.

Guests have a wide range of activities that cater for every taste and style with many nearby designer boutiques and fashionable market stalls that line the French Capital of Marigot, a Water Sports Cabana for the active adventurer and Baie Longue beach provides the stunning backdrop for a host of water sports and excursions, and the candlelit hilltop La Samanna Spa is nestled in tropical gardens offering locally-inspired massages and treatments by luxurious French brands Sisley and Pure Altitude.

The Caribbean plays hosts to a wide range of resorts and getaways and to get the best out of the land, Belmond is also opening a sister resort, Belmond Cap Juluca, on 17 November 2018, with a fantasy jetsetter island hopping package. Guests can enjoy the serenity of Anguilla and ‘Joie se Vivre of St. Martin for a five-night stay, with 3 nights in Belmond La Samanna and 2 nights in Belmond Cap Juluca, for two people during low season, starting form $3,500. This includes transfers and $200 per resort credit, excluding taxes and resort fees.

Belmond La Samanna is the place where luxury and classic European flavour are brought out to wow guests into complete bliss. Prices start from $545 (£390) for a Deluxe Ocean View Room and $45 (£605) for an Ocean View Suite per night. For more information on how to experience this, visit www.belmond.com to find out.
