A Magical Safari Adventure at Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge

Visiting the wildlife in Africa will feel more luxurious with Belmond unveiling their fully redesigned Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge in the Chobe National Park.

As one of Belmond’s three safari experiences in the heart of Botswana, the Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge reopens this June as a Timeless Explorers Lodge connecting their guests to nature. This lodge includes 12 tented rooms, spa, lounge, bar, open deck with pool, firepit and wildlife viewing hide overlooking the watering hole surrounded by abundant flora and fauna.

For a sustainable design, all concrete is removed and the use of eco-friendly composite bamboo decking in the principal areas and the lodge will function on a 95% solar grid system.

Guests can really experience wildlife in the Savannah like never before and live among the wild for a truly breathtaking adventure.

The Lodge’s unique hide allows guests to connect to the wildlife at eye-level with front row seats to all nature has to offer. From first light to dusk, all animals ranging from lions, cheetahs, hyenas and antelope gather for a refreshing drink. To celebrate the reopening, Belmond has commissioned wildlife photographer Stephen Tuengler to capture the playful spirit of the animals in the Savute region, one of the world’s true natural wildernesses.

The tented oasis that Belmond has set up is beside the mysterious Savute Channel offering an exploratory base for guests in the heart of the national park. Inge Moore of MuzaLab newly designed the visually calming, yet dramatic interior filled with rich textures and colours, reflecting the earthy and dynamic surroundings. The bedrooms feature a writing desk and an impressive four-poster bed, with vibrant colours found throughout the room as well as bathrooms, contrasting with the neutral tones of the savannah.

The 12 tents that are used for rooms will offer intimacy for the guests staying inside the tent and with their outside surroundings by an up-close viewing of the outside and how the wildlife interact with one another.

The contemporary lounge and bar connects with an open deck and the eye is drawn straight to the vast view across the plains. Curved and textured rattan chairs with leather detailing and furniture made of local materials fill the public spaces for the best place to rest after a full day of safari adventures.

Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge is open for guests to come and check out with nights starting at $970 per person per night, based on two sharing on a fully inclusive basis. This rate includes two daily game drives, all meals, drinks, laundry, insurance and park fees and VAT. To book today, visit www.belmond.com or call 0845 077 2222.
