An Enriching and Enchanting Summer at Tivoli Festival
Have a summer filled with rich history at the Tivoli Festival, where major global names in the classical music world come together and enriched the lives of Danish and international visitors.
Tivoli Gardens is an amusement park and garden in Copenhagen, Denmark. Created by Gerog Carstensen in 1843, the Tivoli Gardens is filled with excitement, wonder, and beautiful history. Besides the fun amusement rides, guests can listen to musicians and orchestras from all over the world, both in and outside the Concert Hall, for a new take on classical music that will immerse and enrich the minds of anyone who comes.
As a way to celebrate their 175thanniversary, Tivoli Festival will host the Summer Classic at the Tivoli Concert Hall for the best place in classical music during the summer featuring major global names such as the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, András Schiff and the Russian National Orchestra, rising stars like Daniil Trifonov, Bror Magnus Tødenes and Ray Chen and fantastic Danish performers including Michala Petri, Andreas Brantelid and Katrine Gislinge.
There will be different concerts guests can check out and enjoy, from Great Voices, Internaitonal Orchestras, Tivoli Copenhagen Phil, International Pianists, and Katrine Gislinge in Focus. The Tivoli Copenhagen Phil, Tivoli’s own orchestra, will also be performing and will include three young violinists who are under 30 that have impressive standing internationally.
Esther Yoo comes from the London Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by Lorin Maazel in 2014 and will be performing Tchaikovsky’s popular violin concerto. Ray Chen, who won many major violin competitions towards the end of the first decade of the twenty-first century, will perform Bernstein’s West Side Story Suite. Arabella Steinbacher, whose breakthrough came in 2004 with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France under Sir Neville Marriner, will perform Ravel’s Tzigane as part of a Hungarian programme.
