Luxury is a State of Being with Alila Villas Koh Russey
This November, transport into a luxurious state of being with the long-awaited debut of Alila Villas Koh Russey on the Cambodian Riviera.
Residing on its own private island, Alila Villas Koh Russey is one of the most anticipated openings of the year. This resort will be the first for Alila in Cambodia and is set to bring guests pristine bays, dramatic peninsulas, copper-sand beaches and tropical forests. The resort is 20 minutes away from Sihanoukville Airport by private car transfer and speedboat ride and is a 50-pavilion, 13-villa boutique resort with strong Khmar influence.
Alila Villas Koh Russey’s design and atmosphere is done by master architect Chioh-Hui Goh, of Singaporean firm Studiogoto. Inspired by the reverence of the Krama – a patterned cloth widely used in Khmer life – to the Cambodian people, the design has helped shaped the design concept, by fusing the architecture, landscaping and interior works with the destination while paying tribute to the local artisans. Chioh-Hui Goh’s design has also been endorsed by EarthCheck, an Australian-based organisation that has benchmarked and certified Alila Villa Koh Russey’s areas of operational and environmental sustainability, as well as carbon dioxide emissions.
The resort offers two and four-bedroom villas, making it perfect for families wanting privacy of their own space, terrace, pool and garden as well as optional Chef and Butler service while the one-bedroom villas offer an exclusive honeymoon experience for couples.
Two specialty restaurants will help bring the foodies on an island adventure for their taste buds with either Horizon – which will serve à la carte breakfast and dinners with an emphasis on French and French fusion fare – and the Beach Shack a place for guests to kick back and enjoy Khmer cuisine, seafood and light dishes.
The oasis-like atmosphere is the perfect place for the beachfront Spa Alila, offering classic Spa Alila holistic treatments that nurture mind, body and soul. Guests can try signature treatments such as Khmer healing techniques and local ingredients such as virgin coconut oil, to reflect its locality. There is also an infinity pool overlooking the ocean and a well-equipped fitness centre with a private yoga room with complementary daily yoga and Tai Chi classes.
Complementary shuttle boat transfers are on a daily schedule to the mainland and different excursions including guided access to hidden temples, highland trekking in the Bokor National Park, exploring the Kep’s Crab Market and Kampot’s pepper plantation and taking in the laid-back riverfront scene lets guests find that embrace with nature and culture around them.
Spend the next vacation exploring luxury at what some describes the intimate island of Koh Russey ‘a jewel by the sea’. Opening rates for the resort start from US$375 per night for a stay in the Garden Pavillins.
There is also a promotion of “Night Three Stay Free” package for a minimum of three nights’ stay with the 3rd night on Alila. This package includes daily breakfast, return Sihanoukville airport transfers, 30-mins foot reflexology at Spa Alila, and scheduled shuttle boat-service to the island.
