Run. Restore, and Recover at Belmond La Résidence Phou Vao for the Luang Prabang Half Marathon
For the ultimate relaxation and preparation for athletes, Belmond La Résidence Phou Vao has specially curated a package for those participating in the Luang Prabang Half Marathon this year.
The sixth annual Luang Prabang Half Marathon is about to take place on Sunday, 21st October 2018 and runners are in for a treat with a luxurious escape to Belmond La Résidence Phou Vao and their specially curated package ready to provide the perfect pre and post treatment for participates throughout the race at this serene sanctuary in the mountains.
To prepare, the day before the race, runners will receive a delicious, four-course, carb-heavy dinner to ensure they are filled with optimum energy for the race. The menu is filled with flavours such as homemade pappardelle pasta with smoked duck, sundried tomatoes and Thai basil and Coconut mango sticky rice with coconut cream and mango sorbet.
The race itself will be going through spectacular views of the golden temples and picturesque banks of the Mekong and Nam Kham rivers making the race the perfect opportunity to explore and discover the unique and historic UNESCO town of Luang Prabang, whilst raising vital funds for the Lao Friends Hospital for Children.
Post treatment of the race is when the runner will receive a signature SIP SEN massage, a traditional Lao massage, in the award-winning Mekong Spa. The calming oasis of the hotel provides the finest escape for racegoers to restore and rejuvenate following the run.
There will be 1,600 avid runners from around the world expected to take part this year and a special guest is Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice of York, granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II of England.
The Luang Prabang Half Marathon package is priced from $430++ per night and includes luxury accommodations for two, daily breakfast, re-run carb-loading four-course dinner for two, and 90 mins post-run signature SIP SEN massage for two. 10% from each booking will be donated to the Lao Friends Hospital For Children.
