Built in 998 and originally named the Querceto Manor, Belmond Castello di Casole sits on an iconic property within its own medieval village featuring original Etruscan artefacts and architecture. The manor was restored by the aristocratic Bargagli family in the 20thcentury. A private road lined with cypress trees lead guests to the historical estate that sits on top a hilltop with panoramic views of the surrounding villages and patchwork farmland.

This classically elegant estate features 39 all-suite rooms that capture the spirit of the region. Novelty designs that are a fixture throughout the property include original stone flooring, terracotta colours and traditional alabaster from the local region of Volterra. There are also suites located in the original 10thcentury tower with original fireplaces and stone wall detailing. Situated in the old wine cellar, with original stone walls and 4thcentury Etruscan artefacts owned by the Bargagli Collection, the atmosphere of this place exudes peace and tranquillity for a fulfilling experience. Guests are encouraged to try sunrise yoga overlooking the expansive golden valley or rejuvenating spa treatments using local ingredients and ancient Etruscan methods. To connect guests with their surroundings, The Divino Ritual is inspired by Belmond Castello di Casole’s vineyards, featuring a red wine bath and hydro-massage enriched with red wine extracts.

When dining at Belmond Castello di Casole, guests will find a dynamic mix of Tuscan and Italian flavours. Sister property Belmond Hotel Cipriani serves up classic Venetian dishes served on a sun-lit courtyard, while Tosca uses old traditional Tuscan dishes using ingredients grown form the hotel gardens. Bar Visconti is named after cinematographic legend, Luchino Visconti, and is the perfect spot to enjoy the sunset or graze the stars while also overlooking a calm infinity pool.
