True Authentic Tuscan Heaven with Belmond Castello di Casole

Explore the rich culture and history of Tuscany with a magical and romantic stay at Belmond Castello di Casole. Connecting guests to an authentic Tuscan retreat with local simplicity and rich heritage, guests won’t look at Italy the same again.

Built in 998 and originally named the Querceto Manor, Belmond Castello di Casole sits on an iconic property within its own medieval village featuring original Etruscan artefacts and architecture. The manor was restored by the aristocratic Bargagli family in the 20thcentury. A private road lined with cypress trees lead guests to the historical estate that sits on top a hilltop with panoramic views of the surrounding villages and patchwork farmland.

This classically elegant estate features 39 all-suite rooms that capture the spirit of the region. Novelty designs that are a fixture throughout the property include original stone flooring, terracotta colours and traditional alabaster from the local region of Volterra. There are also suites located in the original 10thcentury tower with original fireplaces and stone wall detailing. Belmond Castello di Casole also houses some wonderful opportunities for guests to venture out of their comfort zone and experience the life in the surrounding villages first hand with unforgettable facilities and activities.

Belmond Castello di Casole sits on top a majestic hill top that will overlook far beyond the eye can see. Like a slice of heaven, each morning’s view will feel like Italian paradise.

Guests are invited to head out into the surrounding region with estate rangers for a sunset safari to see the plethora of wildlife scattered across the place, including deer, wild boar, pheasants, foxes and hares, or discover truffles in the truffle hunting excursion, explore the estate from the many hiking trails and cycle along the tracks amongst the vineyards. They can also journey to Belmond’s second property among these lands, Belmond Vila San Michele in Fiesole, Florence for the ultimate Tuscan adventure.

Within the estate, Essere Spa offers a sanctuary to connect with Etruscan history and disconnect from the modern world. Situated in the old wine cellar, with original stone walls and 4thcentury Etruscan artefacts owned by the Bargagli Collection, the atmosphere of this place exudes peace and tranquillity for a fulfilling experience. Guests are encouraged to try sunrise yoga overlooking the expansive golden valley or rejuvenating spa treatments using local ingredients and ancient Etruscan methods. To connect guests with their surroundings, The Divino Ritual is inspired by Belmond Castello di Casole’s vineyards, featuring a red wine bath and hydro-massage enriched with red wine extracts.

When dining at Belmond Castello di Casole, guests will find a dynamic mix of Tuscan and Italian flavours. Sister property Belmond Hotel Cipriani serves up classic Venetian dishes served on a sun-lit courtyard, while Tosca uses old traditional Tuscan dishes using ingredients grown form the hotel gardens. Bar Visconti is named after cinematographic legend, Luchino Visconti, and is the perfect spot to enjoy the sunset or graze the stars while also overlooking a calm infinity pool.

To visit and explore this historical site with all it has to offer, prices start at 500 Euros a night (approximately USD 596) + 10% VAT for two sharing including breakfast. Belmond is a global collection of exceptional hotel and luxury travel adventures in some of the world’s most inspiring and enriching destinations.
