Special Indonesian Brunch with Chef Joanna Lasmono to Celebrate Kartini Day

As a way to celebrate Kartini Day this year, Raffles Jakarta is pleased to welcome guest chef Joanna Nalapraya Lasmono to deliver a once in a lifetime special Indonesian brunch with her signature low-carb dishes at Arts Café by Raffles.

Being one of Indonesia’s most inspiring women of this generation, her use of natural herbs and homemade recipes help shape and empower modern and successful Kartinis’ of today. Joanna herself is an empowering woman through her own background. She fell in love with cooking when she moved to the United States but could not reproduce authentic Indonesian food because certain ingredients were not available. Through experimentation and gaining a new hobby of gardening, Joanna found a way to merge classic Indonesian dishes with healthier options. When she moved back to Indonesia, Joanna wanted to bring that experience back.

Faced with the challenges of product unavailability, Joanna found a new hobby of gardening that complimented her cooking.

Joanna is by no means a professional chef, but calls herself a passionate home cook. Her new cookbook “My Cook Book Diary: Recipes from The Heart, A Cooking Journal of Joanna Lasmono” was inspired by the fast-paced lifestyle people have adapted to and wanting to make recipes that are quick, simple and stay true to the essence of cooking, which is serving good food.

Joanna’s cooking wants her food to be quick, simple and stay true to the essence of cooking, which is serving good food.

Raffles Jakarta is pleased to host such a dynamic and inspiring chef for Kartini Day. This brunch will include Joanna’s fresh, low-carb, and authentic Indonesian dishes. People can also come and talk to the chef herself and learn more about her passion for cooking and gardening.

This one in a lifetime event will happen on Saturday, 21 April 2018 at 12:00 pm at Arts Café by Raffles. The price for the Kartini lunch buffet menu is IDR 498,000+++/person. For more information and reservations, call at +62 21 2988 0888 or Email on [email protected]
