Virtually Navigate the Air with Emirates
A new day and age is upon us thanks to virtual reality technology and Emirates using this to let travellers have a better understanding of how they fly for maximum comfort.
Starting today, Emirates will use 3D seat models on emirates.com and become the first airline to introduce web virtual reality (VR) technology on its digital platform. The models will be a visualisation engine that displays an immersive 3D 360-degree view of the interior of the Emirates A380 and the Emirates Boeing 777 where travellers can see their seats, the spacious cabin and the Emirates onboard product.
This new interface let’s travellers see the Economy, Business and First-Class cabins, as well as the iconic Onboard Lounge and Shower Spa on the Emirates A380 using navigational hotspots.
Emirates is invested in providing travellers with an unmatched travel experience onboard and on the ground, so to be the first airline to introduce this cutting-edge web VR technology will give travellers the opportunity to learn more about the fantastic Emirates experience before they step on board.
The 3D generated graphics offers an outstanding render that is close to reality. Travellers can enjoy hands-free cabin navigation and seat selection by using a VR headset like Google Cardboard. This technology is compatible with all devices without the need of external applications or plugins. Those viewing this on their mobile phones can do so with the model not disorienting and allows them to even book their preferred seat from within the environment. The 3D seat models were created in partnership with Renacen who were awarded the Crystal Cabin for best visionary concept for this project at the recent Crystal Cabin Awards.
In addition to the new 3D models, new product videos are available on ermirates.com which illustrate the end to end travel experience across all cabins. To experience this new immersive technology, visit their website today.
