Ever wonder how the Balinese people traditionally spend their lunchtime? While you are taking a break from the busy city life and going for a short vacation in Bali, why not try the picnic lunch at Seneng Kitchen at Komaneka at Bisma in Ubud, Bali? This one-of-a-kind dining experience invites guests to dine like locals in Pan Seneng’s Kubu. Kubu is a compact hut built above the resort’s rice field, which is specifically made to create a closer impression to Balinese people traditional habits—enjoying their lunch at kubu, after cultivating rice fields.

“The life in Bali is still very close to farming. Usually, the distance between the house and the rice field is quite far. They will build a compact hut for their shelter and also for lunch, so they do not have to go back and forth between the house and rice fields. Therefore, through this picnic lunch, we want you to feel a real lunch experience a la Balinese locals,” said Mr. Nyoman Kariana, the Resort Manager of Komaneka at Bisma.

Seneng Kitchen at Komaneka at Bisma invites food lovers to dine like locals in Pak Seneng’s Kubu. The kubu is a compact hut built above the resort’s rice field. It is made specifically to create an impression closer to Balinese people’ traditional habits that enjoying their lunch after cultivating a rice field or land

Komaneka Resorts Executive Chef Mardita, together with the team of Seneng Kitchen, has prepared a range of special dishes to tantalise your tastebuds, such as the Beef Wrap—rolled grilled beef in flour tortillas, capsicum, and onion, with guacamole, sour cream, and tomato salsa—and there’s also mini fish burger, served with mayo sambal. If you are more into light bites, they also offer French fries and fresh cuts of fruit.

To ensure a pleasant experience during the picnic lunch session, Komaneka at Bisma advises guests to wear comfortable clothes and shoes due to the nature of the outdoor venue and the walking grounds of the rice field. This special lunch is served daily for limited seating, at only IDR 365,000 net per couple, available for in-house and outside guests of Komaneka at Bisma.
