Indulge in Indonesian Desserts With a Twist at La Moda

Located at Plaza Indonesia’s Atrium on Level 1, La Moda is definitely the place to be seen. With their delectable menu paired with the prime location, La Moda by Keraton at The Plaza, a Luxury Collection Hotel will never disappoint.

At La Moda, start your meal with some of their signature entrees. While the menu has both international and Indonesian options, the Eat Vacation team definitely learned towards the Indonesian dishes. Our favourite starters were the empek-empek Palembang and the cireng bumbu rujak.

For mains, we recommend one of La Moda’s specialties, the kambing bakar. Let us tell you, this lamb leg was huge. Grilled in coconut charcoal with soy sauce and chili, this tenders cute of lamb is definitely going to satisfy the hungriest of diners. We also recommend the buntut mercon, oxtail marinated in chili and garlic that definitely isn’t for the faint of heart, but this oxtail has a significantly spicy kick.

The baked klepon was the standout dessert; the molten interior paired with the palm sugar ice cream is the ultimate duo.

La Moda is actually very well known for their desserts, they take traditional Indonesian desserts and create a layered cake from its elements. One popular example is their infamous cendol and es doger cake, that is decorated with the toppings of these traditional Indonesian desserts.

Another delicious dessert La Moda has to offer is the pinacolada, which is a coconut and mango mousse with pineapple in two different textures, topped with a passion fruit and coconut caviar. The showstopper of the meal, though, was definitely the baked klepon. Klepon is also a traditional Indonesian dessert rice cake filled with liquid palm sugar and coated in grated coconut. In its baked form, it is almost like a pandan and coconut version of a chocolate lava cake, paired with palm sugar ice cream.

La Moda is definitely the place to visit for a delectable meal and dessert. It is open daily from 10am to 10pm, and La Moda houses an elegant lounge and private room for 12 people, a bar area, pizza counter, and a takeaway coffee and desserts counter.
