An Ultimate Beach Hideaway in Natural Splendour at Milaidhoo Island Maldives

Nestled on a private, small island in the Baa Atoll UNESCO biosphere reserve near Hanifaru Bay, the intimate luxury retreat offers unparalleled access to the region’s thriving marine life

Established in late 2016, the luxury five-star resort Milaidhoo Island Maldives has positioned itself as one of the most luxurious resort in the popular small island country of Maldives. The boutique resort is set in a private island at the UNESCO biosphere reserve in the beautiful Baa Atoll region near Hanifaru Bay. Aside from its unique barefoot luxury rule, Milaidhoo Island Maldives is committed to offer authentic and meaningful experiences for its guests, hence they call it the “Milaidhoo Moments”.

In contrast to its luxurious amenities, barefoot informality is at the very heart of Milaidhoo’s ethos. Here, discerning travellers can enjoy the absolute best of Maldives in true Maldivian holiday style with its strategic location on a private, tiny island adorned with deep soft white sand beaches and vibrant coral reef, where you can swim and see dolphins, whale sharks and manta rays from up close. Milaidhoo Island Maldives can be reached by a scenic 30-minute seaplane flight from Malé International Airport. Standing on stilts over the lagoon are the 29 spacious 245 sqm overwater villas and 18 secluded 290 sqm villas on the beach, along with the recently launched spectacular two 490 sqm Beach Residences and one 475 sqm Ocean Residence. All villas have large private freshwater swimming pools and an island host to attend to the guests’ every whim.

Meticulously designed by local architect Mohamed “Sappe” Shafeeq, the resort’s 50 majestic villas are comprised of custom-made materials and fittings which represents the true contemporary Milaidhoo Island Maldives style. The villas also boast a 180-degree open view to allow the natural beauty of Maldives shine through the smart design. Milaidhoo is committed in offering memorable and meaningful experiences for its valued guests. One such case is the resort offers a special access to Hanifaru Bay, a marine protected area, which is known to attract the largest seasonal groups of manta rays in the world, as well as one of the best spots to see the whale shark up close in the Maldives. Browse other activities such as snorkeling, diving, water sports, fishing as well as private and group excursions to nearby islands and sandbanks.

At Milaidhoo, guests can find a handful of dining options. The resort has three restaurants and two bars. One of its signature is Ba’theli, the first modern Maldivian restaurant in the island, which offers fine-dining with a casual barefoot dress code. Aside from the delectable dishes, you can find fresh house-mix cocktails and an extensive list of wine designed to pique the interest of wine lovers. All villas have their own wine fridge, where guests can keep their personal favourites.
