Revealing heaven throughout the unveiling innovative underwater art installation by British Artist, Jason Jason deCaires Taylor at Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fen Fushi.

Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fen Fushi deserves the utmost respect and appreciation for its high achievement in innovation by the launching of a series of new sculptures within the Coralarium, the first and only coral regeneration project of an underwater art installation.

As part of its commitment to embrace responsible tourism practices and to improve the overall well-being of its local communities, Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fen Fushi together with Jason deCaires Taylor, a British environmentalist and eco-artist aim to raise awareness of the threatened ecosystem, to educate guests about the underwater world and to rehabilitate the reef through the concept and designation of the abstract sculptures. Inspired by the natural beauty of the coral reef, rising from ten, semi-submerged plinths within the Coralarium, it imitates the ethereal formation of coral colonies. Acts as a visual connector between the aquatic world, and the land, the tessellated sculptures rise from the sea into the sky.

Coralarium, a remarkable masterpiece by Taylor, noted as one of the world’s most celebrated ‘underwater naturalists’.

As home to abundance of marine life, Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fen Fushi becomes shelter for over 250 species of tropical fish, manta rays, turtles and to bottlenose dolphins. Designed up to 5 meters tall, each one of the soaring sculpture is constructed of more than 500 ceramic “starfish”.
