The Sultan Hotel & Residence Jakarta, in collaboration with Alleira Batik, held a Kebaya & Batik fashion show recently to celebrate the 74th Indonesian Independence Day.

The Sultan Hotel & Residence Jakarta, in collaboration with Alleira Batik, held a Kebaya & Batik fashion show recently to celebrate the 74th Indonesian Independence Day. The show was showcased at Kudus hall, whose ornately carved ceiling was inspired by the town of Kudus, Central Java, a venue that overlooked the Hotel’s lush tropical gardens and new infinity swimming pool. The event was held on August 14, 2019 and was attended by many important guests, hotel clients and media partners.

A collaboration between The Sultan Hotel & Residence Jakarta and the prestigious Alleira Batik – this Independence event was the second time both organizations had collaborated on a special event. Alleira Batik presented their stunningly beautiful and glamorous Kebaya and Batik that were showcased by Madam Ambassadors and some members of the International Women’s Club.

The fashion show was staged in two sequences, first sequence was presented by Madam Ambassador of Myanmar, Japan, Brazil, Bulgaria, Poland, Malaysia, and the former chairwoman of International Women’s Club, Ibu Rita Pusponegoro. While the second sequence was Batik dress that was presented by Madam Ambassador of Azerbaijan, Thailand, Pakistan, South Korea, India and some current active members of International Women’s Club and Putri Indonesia association.

The Hotel’s culinary team, under the expert guidance of new Executive Chef Andry Stefanus, served a delectable afternoon tea with some traditional Indonesian favorites as well as some traditional herbal drinks like Bajigur, Wedang jahe and Wedang Secang to help introduce Indonesian culinary heritage to this truly International gathering.

The Hotel also held a batik bazaar for its sponsors who supported the event such as Meidah Cosmetic, Batik Kammi and Darling Rock by Elizabeth Wahyu at the entrance of Kudus Hall. Guests who attended the event also got an opportunity to win interesting door prizes from the sponsors.

In spirit of the Indonesian Independence Day, the Madam Ambassadors Fashion Show event with Alleira Batik at The Sultan Hotel & Residence Jakarta not only celebrated the uniqueness of diversity in Indonesia but also shared Indonesian rich heritage with the valued International guests in what was truly a multinational event.
