Internationally renowned interior architecture and design firm Wilson Associates recently reveals its newest luxurious destination, The Hyatt Regency Shanghai Jiading.

Internationally renowned interior architecture and design firm Wilson Associates recently unveils the The Hyatt Regency Shanghai Jiading. Designed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando, the iconic new destination sits at the heart of Jiading’s developing central business district and boasts 304 well-appointed guest rooms as well as sky-high dining experiences.

Inspired by the elements of traditional Chinese architecture characterized by the intricate design of the upturned roof — the Singapore-based design team incorporated wistful nods to the graceful waves of the pagoda to create a distinctive arrival experience. Created in collaboration with Dragonpace China, the first floor features a stunning three-dimensional projection of a well-known Confucian temple where the images of the temple are layered onto glass.

Adorned in a neutral color palette to compliment the abundant use of maple and walnut timber throughout, The Hyatt Regency Shanghai Jiading provides a soft and soothing space for weary travelers to relax and recharge. As the room is decorated in a traditional Shanghai-inspired style, the private powder rooms employ a different look with its custom, marble-look tile for a clean and sleek aesthetic.

Recalling the morning tea culture of old Shanghai, the Patisserie is designed to emulate the traditional tea shops and song bird cages of generations past while serving guests delectable desserts to be enjoyed.
