La Moda invites discerning diners to discover the traditional flavours of India exclusively prepared by celebrity Chef Amninder Sandhu

From September 11 to 14, 2019, La Moda invites the only Indian Chef from Netflix’s latest cooking show The Final Table. The talented Chef Amninder Sandhu, who currently works as the Executive Chef at Arth, Mumbai, was born to a North Indian Sikh family and raised in the North East India, and now she is ready to go international.

Her akin devotion and passion for food has led her to win the Best Lady Chef Award in 2016 from the Ministry of Tourism. In 2019 she became the head chef of Arth, the first gas-free restaurant in India, embracing traditional Indian methods of slow cooking over wood fire and charcoal. In the same year, Arth was named Restaurant of the Year at World on a Plate.

Amninder is the only Indian chef who competes on the Netflix series “The Final Table”, proudly representing the country on a global platform. This year, she was labelled The Girl with Gold in Her Fingers by the legend Marco Pierre White on his recent visit to India. She was also named Chef of the Year at the Times Food Awards 2019, as well as Outstanding Entrepreneur-Culinary at the prestigious Guide Awards 2019 by the media house Mid Day.

Chef Sandhu strives to revive traditional methods of cooking and bring back local ingredients by ensuring that every dish is prepared using the conventional approach, be it wood or charcoal. Moreover, traditional Indian food has long been touted as the best to enjoy at home. Armed with her vast knowledge of long-forgotten recipes which were passed down from older generations, she aims to retain its comfort value, and further imbues it with the panache it requires to transform the dining into a full gastronomy experience for her diners. She explains, “Traditional methods of cooking, like challah, copper lagans, earthen chattis or tandoors, lend unique flavours to the dishes.”

In this rare moment, the talented chef will prepare special dishes such as Kovalam Lobster Taco, Chicken Makhmali and Paneer Kofta—The Final Table exclusive cuisine at the Indian Challenge—which consists of Paneer, Fried Cashew, Raisins served with Butter Naan and Raan Biryani. There is also Gosht Ka Halwa which is made from the Lost Recipe of Minced Meat Halwa, Jalebi Rabdi and many more. At this culinary event, supported by IndoIndians, Sababay Winery and Luis Felipe Edawards, guests can savour the exclusive set menu starting from IDR 588,000++ per person.
