Luxury Retreat Aman Niseko is Set to Open in Hokkaido in 2023
Following a successful foray into Japan’s tourism and hospitality industry, the fourth Japan resort in the pipeline, Aman Niseko, is scheduled to open in 2023
Luxury hotel group Aman Resorts International brings a delightful announcement for the discerning travellers worldwide with the forthcoming launch of its latest property in Japan. Following the success of three previous Aman’s Japan properties—Aman Tokyo, Amanemu and Aman Kyoto—Aman Resorts is planning to launch the fourth one: Aman Niseko, an all-season retreat at the northernmost of Japan’s second largest main island Hokkaido.
Scheduled to launch in 2023, Aman Niseko is situated on the high slopes of Moiwa, in an untouched nature reserve amidst the hidden gem of Niseko, one of the most popular ski resort destinations in the island. Immersed in nature, Aman Niseko is strategically situated near Niseko’s five main areas: Moiwa, Hirafu, Niseko Village, Annupuri and Hanazono, and just a stone’s throw away from the restaurants, entertainment venues and cultural museums. Set in a spectacular forest and mountain vistas, Aman Niseko’s architecture pays homage to Japan’s ryokan or traditional inn, complete with open fireplaces, private Furo bathtubs and onsen facilities. The exclusive resort will feature only 30 guest rooms for maximum privacy and 31 exclusive Aman branded residences, equipped with extensive wellness facilities and a handful of restaurants, inside the expansive 187-hectare site in a breathtaking landscape of mountains, forests and rivers.
As the first complete spa and wellness resort in Japan, Aman Niseko offers personalised retreat programmes and private consultation for its valued guests, combining Japanese and European spa and healing rituals, fitness and mindfulness activities, coupled with healthy cuisine prepared by the dedicated team. Here, you will find peace for your senses in multi-faceted experiences to nourish your mind, body and soul.
The one-of-a-kind Aman Spa will feature single and double treatment suites, pre-treatment lounges, relaxation pods and extensive thermal spa areas, including Finnish saunas, Watsu treatment chamber, cold plunge pools, steam rooms, hammam, experience showers and onsen. An expansive spa lounge leads to a boutique and Spa Tea Room. On top of that, there will also be an indoor lap pool and an aqua fitness pool which will overlook an outdoor terrace with stunning forest and mountain views. In addition to a ski and all-season mountain retreat, Aman Niseko is also a culinary destination with a number of dining venues ranging from Japanese fine-dining to delectable Italian cuisine in Aman’s Arva concept, together with the other venues which will offer seasonal cuisine throughout spring, summer, fall and winter.
Families with kids no need to worry. The two-storey kids club will feature a reception area, healthy refreshment area and matcha bar, an indoor playground, bowling alley, games zone, theatre, basketball court, indoor swimming and wading pools, male and female changing rooms, and an extensive outdoor terrace. There will also be a toddler’s play area and a nap room. Experienced staff will be on hand at all times to entertain and watch over children of all ages.
31 exclusive, brand-new Aman residences in Aman Niseko are built on a mountain within a nature reserve, the first of its kind in Japan. Residence owners in this select community will be able to enjoy privileged access to all the wellness and dining facilities of Aman Niseko, the first retreat of its kind in Japan, while immersing in the Aman lifestyle and the remarkable natural splendour of Hokkaido.
With a backdrop of sensational views of Mount Yotei, the free-standing, two-storey residences are designed similarly with the resort, with customisable interiors featuring home theatres, massage rooms, wine cellars and cigar rooms. Not only that, amenities also include private indoor and outdoor onsen, extensive entertaining areas and staff quarters, three en-suite bedrooms over two floors, and a loft-like mezzanine level. This is enhanced by a covered garage, dedicated ski-room, and ample storage.
Destined to be a sanctuary of privacy, serenity and renewal overlooking the legendary Mount Yotei and resting on the upper slopes just west of Annupuri is Niseko’s finest gem, the peaceful and secluded Moiwa, where Aman will unveil a new sanctuary in the next three years. Part of its Japanese portfolio, Aman Niseko, together with Aman Kyoto, are owned by Kyoto Resorts, a subsidiary of the Chartered Group. For more information, please visit www.aman.com/niseko.
