The capital city of Jakarta has never been short of culinary adventures hailing from local or international chefs. Next month, from November 7 to 9, 2019, one of the leading contemporary hotels in Jakarta, DoubleTree by Hilton Jakarta – Diponegoro welcomes Michelin-starred Chef Iván Muñoz. Collaborating with Chef Alvaro Bonache Utiel from the hotel’s Sea Grain Restaurant & Bar, Chef Muñoz will showcase his authentic Spanish dishes through an exquisite 9-course dinner menu paired with 8 different wine selections. The combination of high culinary skills and techniques of both chefs will result in delectable yet artistic cuisines, taking guests to a one-of-a-kind gastronomic journey ride.
The Spanish Gastronomic Culinary Journey starts with the appetizer of Sushi Sangria and Gazpacho Cappuccino, and then followed with Salmon Airbag: a plate of smoked salmon with avocado cream and pico de gallo. Continuing the course are Jeruk Peras Ceviche and Spanish Omelet, followed with main course of Steamed Seabass and Braised Beef Cheek. Ending the delightful food journey is Happinestone, a combination of mango, chili and white chocolate, formed into a shape of soft stone that explodes in the mouth. To top everything off, the chefs present a glass of refreshing Anis Mojito, a perfect companion when enjoyed with live music performance at the vibrant yet cosy atmosphere of Sea Grain Restaurant & Bar.
Spanish Chef Iván Muñoz is the co-owner of Chiron Restaurant, which has been awarded 1 Michelin Star and 2 Repsol Sun, making it as one of the must-visit eateries in Valdemoro, Madrid, Spain. With 15 years of experience at Chiron, he further delves his culinary approach into gastronomy, something that is still highly-rooted in his family tradition, but also inspired by Castilian and La Mancha cuisine. His signature style is called Sotobosque or “Undergrowth”, which means cuisines made from ingredients that bring authentic flavours of the nature.
