The Lunar New Year is symbolized by the traditional dish called Yu Sheng, reflecting abundance, prosperity and health for the New Year. As part of tradition, diners gather around the table and toss the shredded ingredients into the air with chopsticks while saying various auspicious wishes. It is believed that the height of the toss reflects the height of the diner’s rise in fortunes—so this is your time to toss your part as high as possible! While enjoying the lavish feast, guests will be serenaded with melodious tunes from guzheng, the traditional Chinese musical instrument, and also a spectacular Barongsai or lion dance performance, which surely will lift up the mood of the guests.
