The Sultan Hotel & Residence Gives Back During Ramadan


The Sultan Hotel & Residence Jakarta held a break fasting event in collaboration with Yayasan Ahsan Amal which founded and owned by Indonesian celebrity Sahrul Gunawan.

The break fasting at Sultan Hotel & Residence Jakarta was fully supported by Amanah Takaful, AFI Tour, KSP AFI, Bank Mandiri Tbk, Yayasan Baitul Maal Pusdiklat PLN, Saudi Air, and Chubb Syariah. In attendance were representatives of Indobuildco, Singgasana Hotels & Resorts,  the parent company of The Sultan Hotel & Residences, media, hotel team members as well as 300 orphaned children from Yayasan Ahsan Amal and underprivileged children surrounding hotel’s area in the spirit of sharing the joy of Ramadan.

This auspicious event took place at Lagoon Garden, the event also introducing hotel facilities to the orphans, therefore once they arrived, they did a complete Hotel tour first to see the hotel’s new Golden Ballroom a place where presidential debates are held. After that they attended paper puppet handcraft workshop and storytelling prior to break their fast.

During the breakfast there were readings from the Holy Qur’an and performances from Sahrul Gunawan himself with a backing band. Not only was the performance a highlight but the hotel’s chef had produced an array of traditional Middle Eastern, Western and Indonesian food such as Nasi Briyani, Kambing Guling, Opor Ayam, various desserts and of course sweet ta’jil before dinner. Chef also prepared kid’s favorite meals like mini burgers, French fries, chicken nuggets, assorted fruits and marshmallows in chocolate fountain.

Orphans were goodie bags consisting of savings, school stationery and praying attire and were presented after praying and dinner by representatives of the owning and management company and Management of the Hotel, Sahrul Gunawan, representatives, sponsors and donors. The event is part of hotel’s effort to give back to the community and a heartfelt effort to give happiness to the invited orphans during the Holy month.
